Health access is so important!!
The Affordable Care Act or Obamacare has successfully been protected for years despite many attempts to repeal it.
I remember how amazing the ACA passing felt when I was in school and now as a practicing doctor I understand the impact the ACA had on health access even more because of my patients and my community.
On May 4th, 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act – the culmination of a 7-year effort, including dozens of votes, to repeal this landmark health care law.
The U.S. House narrowly voted to repeal the ACA, though I am thankful that my Congressman Dan Kildee voted against repeal.
Thankfully, a narrow vote in the Senate kept it in place.
There is still room for improvement in health care access but I am thankful for the opportunity to speak on the value and need of the ACA through the discuss with press yesterday set up by Committee to Protect Health Care.
Thank you to ABC12 News and other news outlets for covering the ACA and why we need to continue to protect it. We need legislators to support the ACA and fight its continued threat to repeal.
