Health Policy and Advocacy with the MAFP and AAFP

I had a wonderful time representing new physicians as a delegate for the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians at the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) NCCL conference in Kansas City.

Connecting with fellow family doctors from across the nation is motivating and inspiring as we work to advocate for our patients and our health community through innovative health policy resolutions for change.

These physician leaders were amazing and I look forward to witnessing the changes we sparked this week. It was also great to share my story during a video interview with AAFP and also share my opinion on a mental health crisis resolution to improve our behavioral health interventions to promote non-police led responses in our community including verbal de-escalation.
