Health Advocacy and Health Access

Today I stood with Governor Gretchen Whitmer as she spoke about signing a bill that protects the people of Michigan's health care access.

The Affordable Care Act or Obamacare has many good intentions and has improved access to health care for millions but it is a federal law constantly under attack.

Today Governor Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist made many of the ACA's benefits a STATE law.

The new bill includes...

Protections for people with pre-existing conditions

Banning annual or lifetime caps on coverage

Requiring coverage for preventative services

Allowing kids to stay on their parents' insurance til age 26

Preventing discrimination in coverage

Advocacy is a strong pillar of Harris Family Health. I am constantly reaching beyond caring for and speaking up for my personal patients but also hoping to be an advocate, asset and resource for the Flint and Genesee County.

Today was a good day health care in Michigan. We should not be fighting for basic health care in America but we continue to have to because of the lucrative benefit of denying health care to save money, which should be criminal.

Harris Family Health is different! Removing the middlemen from primary care services while maximizing health care access through "old fashioned" personalized care. I believe in great access to health care for everyone!
